Blue Care Network--Michigan Only
BCN Premium Care Plus:BCN Premium Care Plus is typically through U of M. We tend to see it when students living on the East side of the state attend college here although there are always other scenarios as well where a patient could have this BCN plan. In these plans the U of M doctor has to do the referral—not the local doctor we get the referral from. They will typically only auth 15 visits which is different than other BCN plans.
BCN Away from Home:
This plan is typically in place for students who live outside of Michigan and are covered by their state’s BCBS Managed Care plan (i.e. their state’s equivalent to BCN). They will typically only auth 12 visits making it different than other BCN plans.
