Creating a New Case
AgileEMR – Creating a Case for a New Patient
FEATURE PURPOSE: Creating a new case for a patient who does not have any previous cases (episodes of care) within AgileRPM.
- Always search for a patient before creating a new one in the Patient tab.
- If a patient does not already exist in AgileEMR, a message will say “There are currently no records in the system.”
- Select New Case
- To create a new case, the following information is required:
- Case Type (Documentation/Non-Documentation)
- Documentation - Case where electronic documents will be filled out (e.g. Initial Evaluation, Plan of Care, Daily Notes etc)
- Non-Documentation - Case where no electronic documents will be filled out (e.g. DME, Massage, Gym, or legacy cases from past systems where we are performing charge entry only)
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Phone Number
- Case Type (Documentation/Non-Documentation)
- Select “Go”
- AgileRPM will suggest possible matches to MRN’s which have a similar last name or DOB. If none of the suggestions match the patient, select Create Case.
- A new Case number and new MRN will be created.
- Obtain the following information from the patient and fill it in the respected tabs.
- Patient Address
- Referral information
- Insurance information
- Any additional information can be documented during the patient’s initial evaluation
- (i.e.) Patient Contacts, Communication Subscriptions, Marketing Sources, etc.
Deleting Cases
If a new case is created by accident, it can be deleted.
Deleting a case is only permitted if it has never been scheduled for an appointment.
- Open the Case
- Located under Actions, select Delete Case
- Once the notification appears, select Delete.
