FEATURE PURPOSE: How to fix incorrect Insurance coverage after it has been attached to an encounter.
- Go to the patient’s case Insurance page
- Click on "Mark as Error" on the current, incorrect insurance.
- Once clicked on, the system will open the below window for you to select the reason why you are marking the existing coverage as an error.
- Once the reason has been selected and it has been saved, the insurance will now show a status of "Error" in the Coverage section at the top of the page and a red bar will appear alerting you that there is currently no insurance coverage for this case.
- To Enter new coverage information simply select the guarantor from the drop-down again, enter the insurance end date, and then click the "+" sign next to Primary Insurance drop-down.
- Re-billing may be necessary. Please be sure to submit a support ticket to have charges re-billed through the correct insurance. When adding a coverage after the initial coverage has been "Marked as Error", you should be able to pull the specific plans that were entered originally by clicking on the drop down arrow next to Primary or Secondary.
- If you are trying to add a coverage for the same date range as another active insurance plan, the system will not allow you to do so without first marking the other insurance coverage as error, or changing the dates on the other coverage so they are not the same as the one you are trying to add.
