Adding Emergency/HIPAA Contacts

AgileEMR: Adding Emergency/HIPAA Contacts

FEATURE PURPOSE: To allow users to add other emergency/HIPAA contacts to a patient’s case.

  • Navigate to the Patient’s Case
  • Click on the Patient Tab
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • There will be a section at the bottom of this page entitled “Patient Contacts” and there will be an “Add” button:

  • Select the “Add” button:
    • This will open the “Add Patient Contact” window:
    • You will notice that there is an asterisk on all fields that are required, notice that only first and last time are required:

  • Fill in all information that you have been given.
    • If you would like this Patient Contact to be responsible for the Insurance Coverage for this patient, please select the Subscriber check box.
    • If the contact can receive PHI, ensure that the “HIPAA Authorized Contact” check box is selected.
  • To make any changes to a Patient Contact that has been added to a Patient’s case, simply navigate back to the Patient Tab, and scroll to the bottom of the page. This is where all Patient Contact information is stored.
    • Patient Contacts can also be edited from the Patient Overview screen (by clicking magnifying glass next to patient’s name at the top of Home Page)
