Signing on Behalf of Another Clinician's Progress Note or Discharge Summary
If the appointment clinician is not able to sign a document they have completed, another clinician can Sign on Behalf of the appointment clinician.
Another clinician can also transcribe documents for the appointment clinician.
To Sign on Behalf of the Appointment Clinician
You can assign the document to yourself and open using one of the three ways below:
- Within the Therapist Work Queue so the document will then show in your assigned items
- Within the Documentation tab of the patient's case
- To get to the Documentation tab from the Patient's Appointment pop up on the Schedule:
- Click on the Spy Glass icon in the Documentation section of the Appointment pop up
- To get to the Documentation tab from the Patient's Appointment pop up on the Schedule:
Assign the document to yourself or the clinician that will be signing the document by:
- Click in the box to type the clinicians name
OR
- Click the arrow to the right of the drop down to select the clinician from the list of users
**Note: The 'Open Document' button will only be available if the document is assigned to you in this section
Click on Open Document
Scroll to the Signature section of the Progress note/ Plan of Care and click 'I'm signing this document on behalf of another clinician'
Select the clinician you are signing on behalf of from the drop down menu
Select the appropriate option out of the two listed below
- I'm signing on behalf of this clinician
- I contributed as a transcriptionist only
Click Save Changes
Once the changes have been saved you will see a message above the Save Changes button that states 'Document has been saved'
Enter your PIN and click Sign and Submit
